Caufield Cup Barrier Draw

The field has been declared for Saturday’s $3 million Group I Caulfield Cup (2400m).

A total of 22 acceptances were received for the feature handicap with European raider Quest For More, Godolphin duo Complacent and Magic Hurricane and the David Hayes and Tom Dabernig-trained Dibiyani declared as the four emergencies.

Last year’s Melbourne Cup winner Protectionist will carry the number one saddlecloth in Saturday’s renewal while the Chris Waller-trained Grand Marshal was the final horse to book a place in the 18 horse field.

New Zealand and Australian Derby winner Mongolian Khan remains a dominant $4.60 favourite following the announcement of the field ahead of last season’s VRC Oaks winner Set Square and Godolphin galloper Hauraki at $8.

Japanese raider Fame Game is next at $11 and it’s $13 or better for all other runners.

Sydney jockey Tommy Berry has been declared as the rider for both Trip To Paris and Quest For More, the first emergency. Berry will ride Quest For More if it secures a start and Glyn Schofield will partner Trip To Paris.
