Dominant favourite Press Statement has drawn one of the outside barriers for Saturday’s Group I Caulfield Guineas (1600m).

A total of 17 three-year-old colts and geldings accepted to contest the $1 million classic. A final field of 16 plus an emergency has been declared for the Melbourne Racing Club’s feature three-year-old contest.
Press Statement, the $2.25 favourite, holds a 13 benchmark ratings point advantage over the entire field but his task was made tricky when drawing barrier 14.
The Mick Price-trained Ready For Victory is an equal second favourite at $9 and he drew ideally in barrier 4 while Kiwi contender Dal Cielo will start from barrier 8.The Murray Baker-trained galloper is also on the second line of betting.
Below is the final field and barrier draw for Saturday’s Group I Caulfield Guineas.
