Durrant Closes The Gap

Adam Durrant has closed the gap on Grant and Alana Williams in the 2017-18 Perth Trainer’s Premiership after dominating the Belmont card on Saturday.

Durrant moved to within one win of last season’s leading trainers after Kelly’s Callisto, Come Play With Me and Enticing Star flew the stable flag proudly.

Kelly’s Callisto and Come Play With Me served up the entrée for Durrant with Enticing Star capping the third leg of a treble for the Karnup horseman.

Consolidating her reputation as a budding star, the Testa Rossa mare extended her unbeaten sequence to six with another powerful performance.

Unleashing her trademark sprint from eighth position at the turn, Enticing Star has yet to taste defeat after her debut at Pinjarra last year.

With two months before the season draws to a close, the Williams combination maintained their narrow lead after Forceful competed a winning hatrick.

Jockey William Pike continued his winning ways with a treble, booting home Come Play With Me, Forceful and Enticing Star.

It ended a top week for the champion hoop who has recorded 11 wins since racing returned to Belmont last weekend.
