Dynamic Respiratory Endoscopy is a new service offered by the Perth Equine Hospital.
It allows identification of throat abnormalities not able to be detected on a normal ‘scope’ examination at rest.
The technology creates a video of the horses throat function while it exercises in its regular environment, with its normal rider and wearing its normal tack and gear.
This examination provides the best chance of reproducing and diagnosing the horse’s performance limiting problem.
Perth Equine Hospital is fortunate to have Josie Leutton to perform and interpret recordings. Josie managed the Randwick Equine Centre DRS program in Sydney and has performed and analysed hundreds of recordings.
