He Or She Encore At Ascot

Alan and Birgitt McAlister are still floating on air after their Group 1 triumph with Magnifisio and they’re a winning chance again when He Or She steps out in Race 6 at Ascot this Saturday.

He Or She (5g Kendel Star – Danessa by West Point) made it 3 wins from 5 starts over 1400 metres a fortnight ago and he can enhance that strike-rate in the Konica Minolta Giving Shape To Ideas Hcp (1500m).

The Serpentine couple paid $80,000 for Magnifisio at the 2011 Perth Magic Millions and the Winterbottom pay-day boosted her bank account to more than $1.19 million.

He Or She is a homebred in partnership with Lark Hill trainer Vaughn Sigley and they knocked back $300,000 from Hong Kong earlier this year.  “This horse always steps up to a challenge,” Sigley said.  “He won his first two starts at Bunbury and Ascot and then got within a length of Testamezzo in the Raconteur Stakes.

“We were happy to get the result over Very Special at Ascot last time,” Sigley recalled.  “I thought the other horse had got his head down right on the line.  He races like he will get over more ground.”

He Or She has an unraced 3yo half-brother (His ‘N’ Hers) and an unnamed 2yo half-sister by Irish bred sire My Atacanta.  The family has already provided a feature win for the McAlisters and Sigley with Simply Adorable (Blackfriars) in the 2010 Pinjarra Cup.

He Or She is by speed influence Kendel Star who is the last son of champion sire Kenmare at stud in Australia.  The sireline has been especially popular in Western Australia with Metal Storm, Verglas, Tribu and Kenvain.

Kendel Star stands at Rivercrest Park in Stratham for a $5,500 (inc gst) service fee.
