The winning streak of I’m Feeling Lucky is set to continue with the in-form mare a warm favourite to take out today’s $100,000 Hahn Electrical Coolgardie Cup (1760m).
The daughter of Bletchley Park has improved out of sight since joining co-trainers Grant and Alana Williams earlier this year, winning her past three races at Belmont.
The six-year-old defeated Stocks (1600m) and The Flirt (2000m) before completing a winning hat trick over Saker (1600m) on August 20, scoring by an easy 1 1/4 lengths.
Drawn perfectly in barrier three for jockey, Glenn Smith, Grant Williams is confident I’m Feeling Lucky, who is a $2.60 chance on the Tab, can run another bold race.
“I think she is one of those horses who has found her groove and is relishing the hard work,” Williams said.
“She pulls up really good after her runs and has fitted in well to her new stable environment.
“I’m confident if she can get a trouble-free run the others will have to be at their best to beat her.”
Consistent six-year-old Kronfeld drops 5kg on his last-start third to Black Moment and 2015 Coolgardie Cup winner, Western Blaze, racing second-up this campaign, head the local contingent.
