Lucy Warwick faces another stint on the sidelines after injuries from a fall at Belmont were revealed today (Monday).
MRI scans confirmed the former champion apprentice and Perth Cup winning hoop had suffered four mild fractures to her left ankle.
Facing at least two months out of the saddle, Warwick fell after her horse Bank On It became unruly and fractious during her preliminaries last Wednesday.
Warwick will be on crutches for three weeks and then in a moon boot for a further two to three weeks.
If her rehabilitation goes well, Warwick aims to be back riding trackwork within two months.
It’s another injury setback for Warwick, who fractured a vertebrae in her back in a fall at Ascot in January.
After hooting home Big Man In The Sky for her father-trainer, Justin, Warwick had to forgo the remainder of her mounts on Wednesday.
Warwick, who won the Perth cup on Material Man, also missed the ride on She’s Enchanted on Saturday, a winner of a 1000m graduation handicap.
