British bookmakers have suspended betting on who will be champion jockey in Great Britain in 2015 until learning the results of x-rays on Ryan Moore’s injured neck.
The three-time champion walked away from a barrier accident at Newmarket on Thursday before being taken to hospital in Cambridge complaining of a sore neck.
Moore had an MRI scan at Addenbrooke’s Hospital on Friday and his trainer father Gary told Channel 4 Racing further tests on Wednesday would determine how long Moore is out of the saddle.
“Ryan is waiting for further x-rays on Wednesday to know the extent of the damage,” he said.
“It has already been said that he’ll probably be off for at least a month, and it does look as if he could be out for a good while.”
Moore leads the premiership on 51 wins, two ahead of Silvestre De Sousa.
