Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) has today announced the appointment of Prof. John Yovich to the position of General Manager Racing.

Prof. Yovich has extensive skills and experience in the racing industry, both as a participant and through the terms he has served as a Board member for the TAB and more recently RWWA. Prof. Yovich stepped down from the RWWA Board and more recently resigned due to his appointment.

Prof. Yovich will be commencing officially in July 2015 at which time Mr Ken Norquay will retire from RWWA.

“John’s demonstrated experience as a senior executive will bring a high level of strategic and operational expertise to the position. His lifelong involvement with racing animals as a veterinarian highlights his passion for racing. We are pleased to have recruited such a high calibre person to the General Manager role”, Richard Burt Chief Executive Officer said.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to recognise Mr Ken Norquay who has brought many years of service and dedication to the racing industry, particularly over the last 11 years since the inception of RWWA” he said.
