Peter Fernie drew closer in Kalgoorlie training premiership honours after former Queensland galloper Casino Belle broke his maiden status on Sunday.
Fernie advanced to seven wins for the season and third position on the trainers’ premiership as he strives to reel in Pat Bermingham Jnr and Helen Harding.
Fernie went agonisingly close to claiming a treble after Akhedasset and Crown Saga ran a nose and short-head second in races six and seven respectively.
Bermingham Jnr failed to add to his tally for the second consecutive meeting and remains stranded on 12 wins. He leads Harding by two.
