William Pike reached a century of metropolitan winners after booting home a treble at Belmont on Saturday.

Pike came from last on High Conviction, ran home strongly aboard Galaxy Star and led the field on Nelson’s Flight.

Pike has a stranglehold on the jockey’s premiership and is 58 wins clear of second placegetter, Jarrad Noske.

Noske, Brad Parnham and Aaron Mitchell are locked in a battle for second spot with only three wins separating the trio.

Galaxy Star’s impressive return victory advanced co-trainers Grant and Alana Williams to 68 metropolitan wins.

The husband and wife team have an unassailable lead in pursuit of their first trainer’s title.

The fight for second will go to the wire with Simon Miller and co-trainers Geoff Durrant and Jason Miller locked in an intriguing battle.

Miller claimed a half century of wins courtesy of High Conviction who made an ultra-impressive return to racing.

After a year out with injury the quality filly looks to be back to peak fitness after circling the field from last.

Durrant and Miller ensured they kept within reach of Miller after Show Honey edged out Bold Success in the last.
