Price went to $280,000 for a colt from the first crop of All Too Hard consigned by Rosemont Stud on behalf of breeder Michael Christian.

“We’ve done a lot of work on this sale and I’d say we’re going to have to pay a premium for the horses we really want,” Price said.

“The good judges seem to gravitate towards similar types. There are not a lot of horses here I want – but this colt was one of them.”

The bay is the second foal of Group II-performed Jesse’s Girl, a half-sister to Group III-winning sprinters Eloping and Of The Brave.

“He’s a strong sprinting colt that I think has two-year-old written all over him. I had to pay more than I expected but he’s a nice horse,” Price said.

“I really like him and his breeder Michael Christian has a proven record of breeding winners, he was in Roedean with us and I think he’s going to come in on this horse as well as Vinery with the All Too Hard connection.

“There’s still a bit left in him if anyone wants to join in!”
