Donna Riordan apprentice Zac Gibbs makes his riding debut at Northam on Thursday.
The young rider steers Deday in the Sheer Elegance For Hair Maiden (1600m).
The Domesday colt is not with some claims after thundering home for sixth, beaten 4 lengths by Cronkite, when first-up at Northam last fortnight.
Gibbs is from a non racing family and can thank his grandfather for introducing a pathway to the thoroughbred industry.
In 2012 Bob Gibbs heard an advertisemet for Careers In Racing on TABradio and encouraged Zach to participate in a school-based traineeship with Riordan.
Three years further on a fresh-faced teenager from Balcatta Senior High School is about to become the newest member of the Western Australian Jockey fraternity.
Watch an early video of Zac and his introduction to racing that was conducted by Julio Santarelli from RWWA.
