The resumption of the Stewards inquiry to hear further evidence from another veterinarian in defence of the charge issued to Mr Gilbride under AR178E alleging that he administered a medication by way of injection to the horse GOTTABEYOU on race day prior to Race 8 at Ascot on Wednesday 5 March 2014, a race in which it was entered to run, scheduled to resume on 15 July 2014 was previously deferred to today due to difficulties arising in all parties being available.

RWWA Stewards were advised yesterday by Mr Gilbride’s legal representatives that due to an unrelated trial (not associated with this matter, racing or Mr Gilbride) being unexpectedly brought forward, they would no longer be able to attend the inquiry today due to this other commitment.

Accordingly the resumption of the inquiry has been further delayed with a date to be determined in accordance with the availability of his counsel.

Mr Gilbride’s licence and approval to act as a Stablehand/Foreman remains suspended pursuant to AR8(z) pending outcome of this inquiry. The suspension of this licence does not prevent him from providing services as an equine dentist under the supervision and engagement of trainers.
