Talented young jockey Chad Schofield has plenty to look forward to after being granted a license to ride in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club has given Schofield a six month contract and he will begin the next chapter of his career on September 1 when the new racing season commences in Hong Kong.

Chad Schofield, son of former South African and now Australian-based rider Glyn Schofield, has only been riding for five years but has already achieved four Group I wins, including the coveted Cox Plate in 2013 aboard Shamus Award.

Numerous careless riding suspensions and some serious injuries have curtailed his opportunities over the past 24 months but he is a highly talented jockey with the ability to get horses to travel for him.

Schofield, currently enjoying a stint in the UK will have the world’s eyes upon him when he pilots Australian horse Criterion in Wednesday morning’s Group I Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (1m2f) at Royal Ascot.
